My topic for this year’s history fair project is Chester Alan Arthur. Arthur is North America’s twenty-first President. I first started looking for men an woman who’s artwork has somehow impacted the nation. As I was searching through these men and woman who have accomplished something remarkable in history, I had stumbled across President Arthur. The only way Arthur links into the topic of art is because he had hired a man to create and place stained glass windows in the White House. I was interested in this man because of his queer appearance and am also interested in every President that has been come to be known and their impact on the nation, or perhaps, the world.
For the first step of conducting my research, I collected as many primary sources as possible. After finding my primary sources, I looked up on the internet secondary sources of information on president Arthur. As I was reading through documents and articles, I was specifically looking for president Arthur’s biggest impact on the nation, citizens opinions of Arthur, his physical appearance, his internal appearance, and his birth, as well as death, dates. All of my resources were found upon the internet, but checked to see if they were reliable.
I chose to create a website to present my history fair project because I can appropriately display my project and all of the corresponding information. On my website, I shall go into detail of how Arthur became president, what impact he has made, his life before presidency, Arthur’s opinions on the notion, and citizen’s opinions of how well he treated and acted upon the nation. I created my project by applying all necessary and appropriate information of this President and applied pictures and documents throughout the website.
My project relates to the theme of “Leadership and Legacy in History” because all of my information was based on a President of the United States of America. All Presidents have lead the nation, rather poorly or greatly, and created their own legacy. Chester Alan Arthur represented our country for four years and signed an act that had created the Civil Service Commission. All Presidents have acted upon the this dignified country providing themselves a mark in history.
